Kloss, Parrish Join Miller Lifting Products
> Miller Lifting Products is pleased to announce two new leadership appointments, welcoming Marty Kloss and Brent Parrish. Marty Kloss has joined Miller Lifting as Director of Sales reporting to CEO, Paul Jankovic. Kloss will have overall responsibility for domestic and international sales activity for all products. He brings extensive sales and marketing experience in the material handling and lifting industry and comes to Miller from Tractel, Inc. where, over 20 years he held the positions of Material Handling Division Manager and VP Sales and Marketing, with responsibility for material handling products for North America. He will be based in Miller’s Massachusetts offices. “Marty Kloss brings the acumen, energy,
and experience necessary to broaden and invigorate the sales process, strengthen connections with current customers, gain new customers, and build the brand of Miller Lifting products. We are very excited to have gained his talent and expertise”, said Jankovic. In a second announcement, Brent J. Parrish
has been appointed Manager of Materials, located in Charlton, MA, reporting to Jack Gardner, Plant Manager. Parrish will have overall responsibility for production planning and control, inventory management, domestic and international procurement, and logistics. Having held positions in procurement
engineering, supplier quality, purchasing, and production control, including a number of leadership positions, Parrish brings the full range of materials management background to his new role. He joins Miller from J. Kittredge & Sons in Hudson, MA. His prior employers include Kollmorgen Corporation, American Thermaflo, and the US Navy where he was a submariner. Miller Lifting Products is a manufacturer
of high quality lifting and rigging components sold worldwide for all types of cranes and material handling applications in the energy, construction, utility, communications, manufacturing, maritime, military and other industrial sectors. Products include load hooks, hook blocks, ball bearing swivels, sheaves, and insulated lifting devices used for industrial cranes and for power line electrical safety. Caldwell Builds for the Future
> The Caldwell Group of Rockford, IL, which designs and builds engineered lifting products, has purchased a new 76,000 square foot manufacturing facility that will serve as the future home of the company. Caldwell a leading manufacturer in the lifting industry is currently located in 3 adjacent buildings in Rockford totaling approximately 50,000+ square feet. Sitting on 10 acres, the new building is strategically located only 5 minutes from their current location creating a win-win for their employees, suppliers and the customers they ship to around the world. Caldwell, which started manufacturing
lifting products in 1954, is a 100% employee owned company (ESOP). “The building is a great investment in our future for our employee owners”, says Caldwell’s President Doug Stitt. “We are working very hard to build our business and this property gives us the ability to continue our growth while providing a great place for our employees to work”, says Stitt. The new location offers a larger overall manufacturing area, higher capacity cranes, significant ceiling height and a new office area. Despite Caldwell’s already broad line of
products serving a variety of markets globally, the company works to add new items each year. According to Chris Mihalik, Caldwell’s Director of Sales, Caldwell manufactures products for many different applications. Everything from simple construction items to complex lifters used in steel mills to custom engineered lifting products used in aerospace applications. “This facility gives us a very solid platform to service our customers”, says Mihalik. “Part of that service is having the facilities where we can continue to build on the variety and quality of products we offer, this building does that for us.” The company has not announced a
move-in date yet but certainly expects to start enjoying the benefits and efficiencies of the new location in 2013. Stitt said, “While we are anxious to get in, this is the perfect time to make sure it is configured exactly the way we want it to support our operations in the most efficient manner possible.” ❙
Samson Announces New VP and Major Expansion
> Samson, the worldwide leader in performance rope, announces the appointment of Joe
Mazzacano as Vice President of Sales & Marketing, effective as of January 1, 2013. In his new role, Mazzacano will leverage his strong knowledge of Samson’s strategy, markets, products, and customers to help foster company growth. Mazzacano has been with Samson for
14 years as Vice President of Finance; a role that has included responsibility for Samson’s marketing department. As a member of the executive team, Mazzacano has been instrumental in successfully developing and executing the strategy of becoming the world-wide leader in high performance synthetic rope. Samson has experienced rapid growth and Mazzacano’s knowledge of Samson’s worldwide distribution network, end users, and market trends provide a solid foundation for this new role. Samson’s sales team that includes support locations throughout the US, Europe, Asia Pacific, and Australia. In addition, Samson announces a major
expansion of their Ferndale, Washington manufacturing facility and corporate offices. The new space significantly expands the facilities of the Research and Development department while providing additional lab and manufacturing space. Long committed to maintaining the
most advanced Research and Development organization in the industry, the expansion provides a central R&D Center housing the entire department for better group collaboration, more streamlined testing and enhanced interaction with production. A new training room with the capacity to house large groups is included in the expansion plan.
