Married couples need to have a "Date Night" at least once a week. This is a time to have fun alone and enjoy each other's company. This in time to help you grow together as a couple. Without this time, couples grow apart with the husband and wife have lives away from each other continually day after day. By the time the children leave the nest, there is nothing to keep them together because they are stranger living in the same house. It is after 20 to 25 years of marriage that many couple's divorce. What a waste, especially when one date with their sweetheart, per week could have kept their marriage alive. It is a small price to pay and a fun time with your sweetheart. You don't have to spend money, necessarily, to have a date. Go window shopping, go for a walk in the park, go hiking, cloud watch for fun shapes, star gazing, farm out the kids and have a home candlelight dinner for two. Dress up for dinner and include romantic music. Some couples find new hobbies that they can do together on their date night. Others take classes together and spend time taking about what they learned. Whatever you do, you both need to be on your best behavior. No arguing and no put-downs! No kids allowed. Make arrangements with other couples that need a date night to swap baby-sitting for each other.
Whatever you choose to do, have fun with each other!
