Strategy is credited with changing attitudes among young people and its success has been highlighted in a number of key independent surveys. “One of the most recent shows that


55 per cent of young people under 25 in Wales now have aspirations to work for themselves and be their own boss. “The launch of our new Youth Entrepreneurship Services will build on the excellent work undertaken to date and help develop a‘can do’ attitude in youngsters with the aim of encouraging those under 25 to get involved, develop


their ideas and consider starting their own business.” More businesses and entrepreneurs


will also be mobilised to support the programme, building on the activities of existing Business Entrepreneurship Champions and the successful Dynamo role models project in Wales which provide inspiration to young people. Two consortia led by Menter a


Busnes and Prospects, in partnership with Cazbah, have been appointed to develop and lead on the Youth Entrepreneurship Services programme over the next three years. MenteraBusnes is to deliver Youth Entrepreneurship Services targeted at 16- 24-year-olds, working with partners in further and higher education, work based learning and youth and community groups throughout Wales.

Newport County manager Justin Edinburgh is convinced the city’s football club is destined for the big time once more. The Exiles, currently


riding high in the Conference, areamatter of afew victories away from the football league and the sky’s the limit after that, Edinburgh believes. The former Tottenham


Hotspur defender was interviewed on stage by South Wales Argus sports reporter Michael Pearlman at the City of Newport Business Club. Justin, who as manager


has taken County to the top of the Conference league and is pressing for promotion, spoke about his career on and off the field and prospects for County.


Justin, who spent a


decade from 1990 with Spurs making 213 full and substitute appearances, also played for Portsmouth after starting his senior career with Southend United. He began his managerial


career as player manager with Billericay Town before moving to Fisher Athletic, Grays Athletic and Rushden &Diamonds ahead of securing the top berth at Newport County. He explained circumstances of the infamous sending off incident in the 1999 Worthington Cup after afoul on Wales and Leicester’s Robbie Savage and talked of playing in the Spurs side with great like Paul Turn to page 4
