theflats. Themost common causeiselectrical fault, forexample fromoverloadedsockets. Firesmay also be caused by cigarettes that have not been put out properly; thosesmoked by someoneleaning outofawindowand throwing thebuttawaymay endupfalling through the open window of a neighbour’s flat. Chip and frying pan fires are caused when someoneforgets to turn off thegas and fragranced candlesare popularbut domake sure they are properly extinguished.
