Hampton, VA - Hampton University President Dr. William R. Harvey hosted the 12th Annual Execu- tive Leadership Summit at Hampton University on last month.

The Leadership Summit was established as a means of reaching out to individuals at colleges, universities and other institutions who aspire to be executive leaders. Harvey contributes much of his success as chief executive officer to ten fun- damental leadership principles, which he has en- compassed into the Harvey Executive Leadership Model. Thus, Harvey made a personal commitment to reach out to others who aspire to hold leadership positions. The summit was all about “Passing the Executive Torch."

Harvey has served with distinction as president

of Hampton University for 35 years. His visionary and innovative leadership is reflected in the growth and quality of the University’s student population, academic programs, physical facilities and finan- cial base. At the Executive Leadership Summit, Harvey discussed his leadership principles which include; Vision, Academic Excellence, Innova- tion, Fiscal Conservatism, Work Ethic, Fairness, Academic Success, Team Building, Good Manage- ment, Courage, and Results.

"More than ever, today's world requires for lead-

ers to implement strategies that work," Harvey said. "The Executive Leadership Summit provides a forum for aspiring CEO's to learn from a diverse group of effective leaders who have achieved ex- traordinary results."
