oday, criminals are targeting the rail network using technology, such as Google Earth, to pinpoint vulnerable areas. They are then arriving at these locations wearing credible clothing, including high-visibility jackets and hard hats, meaning Network Rail, British Transport Police and specialist rail security companies now need to combine human intelligence, security patrolling and video surveillance technology in their response.
