Tim Fields Becomes New General Manager for the Chesapeake Conference Center


Chesapeake, VA - Tim Fields started his career with the Chesapeake Conference Center in February of 2011


as the Marketing and Sales Director. Since then Tim has successfully led his Sales Team and quickly hit the ground running making many positive changes at the center. Tim’s enthusiasm and “GO GET’EM attitude” quickly made him an obvious choice for the open position of General Manager. City Officials and staff saw a natural fit for Tim encouraging him to interview for the position. Because of his experience and skill set Tim was selected to serve as the NEW General Manager for the Chesapeake Conference Center. The City of Chesapeake and employees of the Chesapeake Conference Center proudly welcome Tim in this new position!


Timothy A. Fields, the General Manager for the Chesapeake Conference Center has been more than ready


and eager taking on his responsibilities of such a position at an award winning banquet and conference center. Tim's main focus is maintaining the hospitality credibility for the City of Chesapeake; a positive public image of the center; a high standard of food and beverage service; a high level of employee satisfaction; an above satisfactory physical plant and a consistent positive marketing message for the Chesapeake Conference Center. As a seasoned hospitality veteran with over 26 years of experience in the industry he has brought a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Chesapeake Conference Center since he came on board in February of 2011 as the Centers Director of Sales. Prior to joining the Chesapeake Conference Center, Tim served as the Director of Sales and Marketing for Norfolk Waterside Marriott, and was Regional Senior Sales Manager for LTD Hospitality, L.L.C. Tim also has held previous Sales and Marketing positions with Starwood Hotels & Resorts


Worldwide, Radisson Hotels and Resorts, Carlson Hotels Worldwide, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Choice Hotels and The Seabrook Island Resort in Charleston, SC. Fields has also served as the Multi-Cultural Sales Professional for the Hampton Convention and Visitors Bureau. Tim has received many awards and accolades during his tenure. Tim attended Raritan Valley Community College, Branchburg, NJ where he focused on Hotel Management. He also served in the US Army prior to entering the hospitality industry. Originally from New Jersey, Tim now lives in Chesapeake with his wife Veronica, and is active in community service organizations such as 200+ Men Inc., The New Chesapeake Men for Progress, and is a member of the Chesapeake Sports Club. Tim is also an active member of First Baptist Church, South Hill in Chesapeakes and a member of the Masonic Order.
