Good Food at its Best
Families are more than welcome at The White Horse in Headcorn
There is plenty for children to do, with an outdoor play equipment and a toddler play area in the safe, fenced garden. Food is home-made, traditional pub grub at the North Street pub, including chilli, cottage pie or macaroni cheese. There are also basket meals like scampi or sausage and children's meals. For those looking for something lighter there are cheese, tuna or ham baguettes or jacket potatoes with a number of fillings. Landlord Peter Hynes who runs the pub with his wife Gill, said the pub's signature dish,
the combo - a mix of chicken wings, sausages, breaded mushrooms, onions rings and home-made chips or wedges was particularly popular. At £7.99 it's big enough to share. Other mains are under £7. "It's all home-made so there's a real difference in taste," Peter said.
Meals can be eaten in the bar or outside, where there is a large pub garden and decked area. Food is served from 12-6pm every day and the pub opens from 12pm to midnight. Phone 01622 890738.
