28 - The Ranch Sorter*************************************************************************************July - August 2012 Klamath Falls, OR S
taebler Performance Horses first RSNC Sanctioned sorting and Clinic in Klamath Falls, Ore., was a huge success. The day started with a fun filled and informative clinic by Roger Braa from Ellensburg, Wash. Fifteen
participants learned the basics from this World Champion penner and sorter. Fun and good times were had by all. The sorting got started a little late due to the clinic, but it started with a
bang in the Open with 13 teams. It was won by Bob Dunn and Morgan Flint. The Masters #10 HC had 17 teams and it was won by Danelle Markham and Dick Elliott, who travelled down from the Bend/Redmond area to take part in the first sorting held in Klamath Falls. Our largest class was the #8HC with 29 teams, and Morgan Flint stepped up again and took home the 1st place check with Tracy Orr. Bob Dunn and Tracy Orr topped the 24 team race in the #4 HC, taking home checks for $180 each. Many of the clinic participants made up the 10 teams entered in the #10 Beginner RH. It was great watching all the newcomers to the sport getting involved and showing off what they learned earlier in the day. Maria Cofer took home the $125 1st place check. Great weather and fantastic cattle were the highlight of the weekend.
We were blessed with holding the sorting in the outdoor arena because the temperature was in the 80’s. We look forward to seeing everyone at our next RSNC event scheduled for July 28.
