Home is where the heart is

The writing’s on the wall What I love most are cryptic messages that catch me off guard – unexpected surprises that mirror my thoughts or challenge my worldview; words that make me chuckle and wonder or stop and think twice. Like the stop sign at the end of my street that sports the words NEVER GIVE UP. It always gives me a buzz when I trudge off for another long day.

Creativity can be the key A recent creative think tank forming part of the International Vivid Sydney ‘Light, Music & Ideas’, brought together a wealth of capacity to discuss the best directions for creativity. The NSW government has identified the creative industry as one of several key areas to redevelop the economy. They expect it to be a key driver in the growth of exports, productivity, innovation and competitiveness over the next decade.

Putting more heart into your home I believe a rich life is a life filled with purpose. Not stuff, but memories. I am a wife, a mother and a woman of God and I truly feel blessed to be able to share my gift with families around Australia. I am invited into houses to not just design their ‘dream home’ but assist in unpacking their family vintage and building a backdrop that will enrich their purpose.

Creativity, creatorship and the future We haven’t lost our creativity – it just needs to be harnessed in a new way for the benefit of all, and as a key aspect of a sustainable future. The meaning of creatorship is presented as a wholly different level of creativity, which embraces spirituality and higher dimensions of life – and expresses our birthright as human beings to become creators in our own right.

Your first aid kit for getting un-stuck and making it through your day Do you have the same thoughts going around and around in your head? You’re trying to figure it out, but just can’t see a way out of this head spin? Lizelle offers four things to do, which will interrupt this cycle, stop the spinning, allow you to catch your breath, and open up to new possibilities you haven’t been able to see yet.

Dr Yunus – the man who revolutionised banking with a loan of $27 in the 70s Joseph Law, Sydney author, speaker and social entrepreneur, recently interviewed Professor Muhammad Yunus, the man who commenced the famous Grameen bank offering microcredit to people previously considered bad credit risks.

Want to be a mystic? A mystic doesn’t know… LivingNow had the pleasure of attending a talk given by Sadhguru last year. He is an entirely captivating speaker with funny stories. However, as you’ll see when you read this, he is also a ‘dinkum’ Indian mystic – the real thing. As his story unfolds you will also be enthralled.

The research behind Reconnective Healing When Dr. Eric Pearl began exhibiting a mysterious healing ability in 1993, he could imagine neither what it might be nor its source. As a successful Los Angeles chiropractor with a dozen years’ experience, he was a firm believer in evidence-based medicine that operates on proven scientific principles. But this new ability was unlike any science-based method he knew.

Ancient quit-smoking methods beat patches, pills and gum Acupuncture or hypnosis can be up to 1300% more successful in assisting people to quit smoking than using nicotine patches, medication or nicotine gum, a study has found. Article based on the findings in the latest American Journal of Medicine.

Creating from the soul As we cut fabric, splash colour, express ourselves on the stage or play the flute in the park, these artistic endeavours become the means by which future generations interpret and rationalise how we lived. Archaeologists piece together puzzles from civilisations long gone, connecting the finite clues that are linked to a past intelligence enabling us to absorb the history of these nations.

Karma

Even her close friends don’t get it; great career, fit and active lifestyle, bright, easygoing personality but terrible self-worth. To others it looks like she has everything going for her. She has tried various forms of emotional therapy and counselling but nothing changes.

Refrigerator door touch stones I looked at that postcard for a long time and I took a photo of it so that I would remember what it said. I felt it had a really potent message and that, some time, I might be able to share it with others.
