OliveHarvesting
Like many Palestinian farmers, the Faranesh family has worked the land around Bethlehem for hundreds of years.Homes of farmers are not necessarily built on their personal farmland, but closer to town. Farmers would then tend to theirfields throughout the year, and, during harvest times, families and the communitywould take an active role in olive picking fromprivate and community fields and gardens. Baba, Fadwa’s father, would have been one such farmer, though at the time of the play he has lost his olive groves along with hismemory.
