(Lusomundo), the Middle East (ECS), China (HGC), Eastern Europe, CIS and Baltics (EEAP), Israel (Forum), Turkey (Aqua) and India (Pictureworks).

BY MELANIE GOODFELLOW Marion Cotillard has committed to star in Asghar Farhadi’s next as- yet-untitled feature, Alexandre Mallet-Guy at Memento Films Pro- duction has confi rmed. “I am very pleased that Marion
Cotillard has joined us in this amazing adventure,” Mallet-Guy said. It is the fi rst time Mallet-Guy is
producing Farhadi, having distrib- uted his previous pictures — About
Elly and A Separation — in France, where the latter was a breakout art- house hit chalking up 1 million admissions. The film’s interna- tional box offi ce stands at $25m. Memento Films International,
which handled A Separation, is launching sales here. The shoot of the $14m feature
will take place in Paris this autumn. It is the fi rst time Farhadi has shot outside his native Iran. Details of the storyline are under
wraps while Farhadi fi nalises the script. Mallet-Guy revealed, how- ever, that the fi lm will be an emo- tional social thriller in the vein of A Separation. In an exclusive interview
announcing the project with French fi lm trade Le Film Francais, Farhadi said his aim was to, “present the viewers of my films with questions rather than answers; something the world needs more than ever today”.

product from the makers of the Paranormal films, the makers of the Saw franchise and the prolifi c Gold Circle is a great honour for any company,” Deckter said.

Lionsgate UK moves into Tower Block Lionsgate UK has taken all UK rights to thriller Tower Block from Simon Crowe’s SC Films. Ronnie Thompson and James Nunn co-direct the film, which stars Sheridan Smith. Other territories sold include Germany (Universum), France (Swift), Japan (Nettai Museum), Korea (Apex), Greece (Odeon), Portugal (Zon Lusomundo) and Middle East (ECS).
Love spreads to SPC SPC has taken all North American rights to Susanne Bier’s Love Is All You Need starring Pierce Brosnan, Trine Dyrholm and Paprika Steen. SPC negotiated the deal with CAA on behalf of TrustNordisk.
