Lobbying
Bradford Chamber represents your views on a local and national level. We can help give strength to the lone trader or small business when vocalising your concerns. We also work hard to ensure we capture the views of businesses across the district so that we can effectively lobby officials – not least to reduce the mountains of red tape business owners can face.
Our activities involve: • Economic and other surveys • Providing information on government initiatives
• Lobbying on your behalf • Representing your views • Talking to decision makers.
Last year Bradford Chamber: • Placed senior government civil servants before Bradford business
• Arranged for Bradford MPs to meet with Bradford Business
• Carried out an exporting survey on behalf of the LEP
• Surveyed young people on city centre regeneration.
Community and Environment Bradford Chamber is home to the Better Business Environment Forum (bbef) and Be Involved. bbef provides environmental support to local businesses across the District and can help you with any of your green business issues.
Be Involved work in the Urban Garden
Last year Bradford Chamber: • Supported Be Involved to engage 1,300 business volunteers in 9,100 hours of activities to refurbish 42 community centres, build 135 raised fruit/vegetable beds, create 10 ponds, 12 nature trails, 19 gardens & 15 community seating areas and delivered Christmas presents to over 1,000 people
• Diverted 335 tonnes of material from landfill through the Better Business Environment Forum
• Supported bbef to host the first annual eco-fair. Over 60 stall holders connected with more than 400 attendees and 35 speakers gave expert advice on key topics energy; waste and renewable energy.
