Bearers thTraditione
The aim of The Tradition Bearers is to promote an interest in the current generation of traditional singers and musicians. We do that through our own projects and recordings and we also encourage people to seek out other performers and to listen to archival recordings.
“If you want to speak French, going to France and absorbing yourself in the language is good advice. If you want to sing traditional songs or play traditional music well, a good starting point is to listen to great traditional singers and musicians.”
Our website offers a specialist mail order service for traditional music recordings. It is the place to buy Tradition Bearers albums and selected recordings of a similar style. If you want to discover some of the hidden gems of traditional music – our website is a good starting point.

Brendan Mulholland, Brendan Hendry, Paul McSherry Tuned Up
Brendan Hendry (fiddle) from Co. Derry and Brendan Mulholland (flute) from Co. Antrim play wonderful traditional music with the classic combination of fiddle and flute, underpinned by the guitar of Paul McSherry.
“Their playing demonstrates a deep understanding and knowledge of the music’s subtle details and meaning with three musical minds creating something far greater than the sum of the parts.” KEVIN CRAWFORD, LÚNASA
