NAPT Task Force Works New KPI Program for School Transportation
By Michelle Fisher Recently the National Association for Pupil Transportation
formed a new KPI Task Force to study key performance indica- tors that will form the foundation of a new business assessment tool designed for student transporters. Te NAPT board said a pilot program should be ready in time for its annual Summit in the fall in Memphis, Tenn. Mike Martin, executive director of NAPT, said the keynote speech at the 2011 Summit on performance metrics by Mark Aesch, for-
mer CEO of the Rochester-Genesee (N.Y.) Regional Transportation Authority, received a “terrific response” as 50 members volunteered to help with researching metrics, or data points. John Fahey, Peter Lawrence, Michael Shields and Robert Streeter are leading the four work groups focusing on technology, research, definitions and feed- back. Shields is transportation director for the Salem-Keizer (Ore.) School District, and Streeter transportation director for the Dysart Unified School District in Surprise, Ariz.
