PART 1 - INTRODUCTION
Most introductory friendly photography guides imply the first rule as the most important, which is, get a camera, but in this case I strongly
disagree. First off, without imagination, images you capture with a camera may it be an expensive top of the line professional DSLR, or just a measly point and shoot compact camera would just be blank images with no emotion and perspective. Your imagination would be solely responsible for framing the picture, determining the angle and controlling light as the camera is just a mere tool used to capture the point of view you are viewing.
Step one! Get something
called imagination.
Step two! Now, you shall
acquire a camera. You don’t have
to necessarily get a DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) to
take pictures, you either want one, or
don’t want one. Images can be captured by any capturing medium either film or digital. There are various types of cameras to choose
Know the controls and it would be easier for you to make quick adjustments on the go. You must be confident and
comfortable with the camera when shooting to avoid messing up. Most cameras will have a function button and you must always set it to the most convenient setting such as ISO, white balance, exposure compensation, file format, etc.

from; DSLR, point and shoot, Mirrorless cameras, Micro Four Thirds, Rangefinder and film cameras in various formats. Each type of camera has its strength and weaknesses as well as robustness. Another thing to keep in mind is the number of megapixels NEVER determines how nice the picture would turn out. Any camera that has a capturing medium would be adequate.
Step three! Know your camera
