path link is proposed next to Farleigh Hill to the bus stop at the junction of the B2010 and Burial Ground Lane. The planning statement said: “The proposal represents an op- portunity to enhance the appearance of the site”, which was cur- rently unkempt. The area would also be improved by raising the present land levels to that of the land around it and bringing it into a functional use. The statement continued: “The proposed developmentwill com- plement the appearance of the dwellings opposite the site to the south-east of Dean Street, incorporating tile hanging, gable ends, pitched dormer windows and porch features. Further within the site, the design includes further tile hanging at first-floor level, ren- der, brickwork and some barn hipped roofs, along with porch de- tails.

“The proposed design is appropriate, being traditional but in- corporating some contemporary elements... providing an active frontage to Dean Street and a varied design across the site.” Maidstone Council will decide on the planning application.

Recluse died at home after accidental fall A 64-year-old recluse who was found dead by a concerned neigh- bour, had probably suffered a fall. Retired accounts clerk Janet Schwier, ofWesley Close, Barming,

died from an untreated fractured left femur, a postmortem revealed. Miss Schwier’s GP, Dr David McGavin of the Blackthorn Medical Centre, said she was awaiting hospital treatment for a condition which was pointing towards a diagnosis of cancer. The alarm was raised after she missed a hospital appointment and had not been seen for some days. A neighbour, who had a door key, found her body on the bedroom floor on November 17, 2011. Mid Kent and Medway deputy coroner Gail Elliman said Miss Schwier led a reclusive life and had died as the result of an acci- dent.

Allington gas condition ADAM Underwood has been given permission to erect a three-bedroom home at 1 Kilndown Close, Allington. Maidstone Council gave the go-ahead, subject to detailed proposals of gas protection measures.
