Diabetes charity benefits from STARAsupport


SNODLAND Town Active Retire- ment Association has been doing its bit for charity and has made a donation to the Paula Carr Diabetes Trust. STARA chairman Alan Elphick presented a cheque for £2,530 to trust chairman Gary Fagg. Thanking the club for the “magnificent sum of money” it had raised, Mr Fagg told STARA members: “You can lead a good life with diabetes but uncon- trolled diabetes is the biggest cause of blindness, amputations and dialysis.” The money will be used to-

Sanctuary open for all A BIRD and wildlife sanctuary which was opened in 2009 is available for residents to enjoy. The Edgeler Sanctuary in Recreation Avenue, next to the entrance to the recreation ground, is named after Gerald Edgeler who died in 1997, aged 80.
