SAMPLING OF THE SEASON Sizzling Summer Tour

Day One M ORNING /A FTERNOON

Arrive and get settled in at your hotel. If you get here early enough, why not take the group for some refreshing summertime fun at Paradise Bay Water Park, Coral Cove Water Park, Mayan Adventure Indoor Waterpark, Itasca Water Park or the splash pad at Ty Warner Park.

E VENING Enjoy a perfectly grilled steak this evening at Weber Grill Restaurant or Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse as you watch the sun set from their patio. If pasta is your preference, come hungry and take your place in the spacious dining area outside Maggiano’s Little Italy.

Day Two M ORNING

Spend your morning getting a little exercise among the magnificently tended trees, 16 miles of hiking trails, 9 miles of roads, and 900 acres of natural areas of The Morton Arboretum. Don’t feel like walking? Hop aboard the Acorn Express to tour this 1,700 acre outdoor masterpiece and learn about its rich history. Walk through the Maze Garden and dip your feet in the shallow pond at the Children’s Garden before taking in the floor-to-ceiling view while enjoying lunch at the Ginkgo Restaurant.

A FTERNOON Shopping is a must when you come to the Chicago area, and DuPage County has some of the best. Consider Oakbrook Center, Yorktown Center, The Promenade Bolingbrook, Westfield Fox Valley, Chicago Premium Outlets and numerous others for the major brands and stores you’d expect for a shopping spree in Chicago.

E VENING Summer in DuPage County is filled with events and festivals of all kinds. Art fairs, classic cars, carnivals or concerts. You’ll find them all here, and the best time to enjoy them is in the cool of the evening. Just check our online calendar of events for a complete list while making your plans.

Day Three M ORNING

Chicago is a big sports town and, with two major league teams, our summers are all about baseball. Start your day touring either the White Sox Training Academy at Ackerman Sports Center in Glen Ellyn or the Chicago Bulls-White Sox Training Academy in Lisle.

If you’d rather take to the links, arrange for a quick nine on one of the over 50 public and private golf courses in DuPage, or try TopGolf’s unique indoor twist on the game.

A FTERNOON Meet for an early lunch at Harry Caray’s Italian Steakhouse at The Westin Lombard Yorktown Center hotel. The friendly, energetic atmosphere embodies the amiable personality of the restaurant’s namesake. It’s also a veritable museum of baseball history.

After lunch, you’ll board your motorcoach for a trip into Chicago to watch a Cubs game. On non-game days, you can take the Wrigley Field Tour where you can get an insider’s look at more than 97 years of history in this legendary ballpark, visit the press box, clubhouses and dugouts. You may even get a chance to step on the field!

E VENING Tonight, switch sports and enjoy a delicious meal at Ditka’s in Oakbrook Terrace. While waiting for your table, tour the bar and check out all the great football memorabilia. Who knows? You may even run into “Da Coach.” himself.
