summer, Yarbrough installed two new load cells into their 1,500 Ton testing machine giving their test bed updated load read out capabilities. Andrew Mullis, Yarbrough’s Structural Testing Engineer, explains, “Our load read out is more accurate and fully traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology giving our customers more confi dence that we are meeting their load testing requirements.” With their 1,500 Ton test bed ASTM E4 calibrated their load read out is accurate to +/- 1%. Previous load readout capabilities were limited to calculated loads based on calibrated pressure readings. Along with the installation of new load cells, Yarbrough also lengthened their test bed and poured concrete around the full perimeter of the machine, allowing them to accommodate larger products, longer lengths, and off er a quicker turnaround and added effi ciency. “Our test bed is now quicker, easier, bigger, and better,” says Mullis. Yarbrough’s 1,500 Ton capacity test machine can
load test rigging products as well as provide load testing services on other lifting devices such as spreader bars, load blocks, ladle hooks and other custom rigging tools. Founded in 1951 by Jim Yarbrough on the principles of Pride, Integrity and Quality Yarbrough Cable has provided
