Carlow C.A.C. Chairman bags up on Barrow Roach again.

Angling Council of Ireland coach and Carlow Coarse Angling Club chairman Gerry Mcstraw from Graiguecullen has once again shown how easy it is to catch a great bag of Roach from the river Barrow. A few members of the Carlow CAC and Athy and District com- mittee member Declan Day travelled the short distance to the river Barrow in search of the resident shoals of Roach and found them with relative ease. The methods on the varied and included the use of the Tip (feeder method) as used by Mr Day from Athy, other methods used on the day included the long pole and the Whip. The winning method on the day proved to be the stick float fished on a fourteen foot Trabucco float rod with all the bulk lead to the bottom the fa- voured method of coach Gerry Mcstraw.
