IRONMON- GERY DIRECT OFFICIALLY OPENS NEW PREMISES
Company predicts further growth and job opportunities
IronmongeryDirect, the UK’s largest online and mail order supplier of iron- mongery products to the trade officially opened its new purpose-built 50,000 ft² premises in Basildon on Tursday 6th October. Celebrating the move to new premises the company invited local dignitaries and suppliers to see Reg Bass, founder of the original hardware shop in Leigh-on-Sea, officially open the building with a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the occasion. Managing Director Wayne Lysaght-Ma-
son commented; “Te move will enable us to accommodate thousands of new product lines and up to three times the current level of staffing, giving us room to keep up the momentum of our fast business growth to date.” Reg Bass com- mented: “Tis is a really significant day for IronmongeryDirect. Much has changed over the past 40 years, the business has certainly evolved and grown significantly but one thing that hasn’t changed is the desire to provide the highest standard of service to our customers.”

kin said: “It’s wonderful that fast growth businesses like IronmongeryDirect are coming to Basildon. It’s great to be meet- ing them today.” Te new premises at Scimitar Park in
Basildon, Essex along with brand new business management systems represent an investment of over £2.5 million. Te additional space will enable the business to increase product lines offered to 20,000
within the next four years and further en- hance its next-day, direct to the customer service.
Te new site will also house a trade
counter, enabling local tradesman to have access to a wide variety of 11,500 products in stock, including door, window and se- curity hardware plus screws, fixings and accessories.
