Illustra 400 Series IP Cameras - Bridging the gap between standard and megapixel resolution.
America Dynamics, part of Tyco Security Products, has announced its new illustra 400 series of IP cameras. This new series of cameras which offer H.264 compression at 30fps, 896 x 720 pixel resolution, dynamic bandwidth management, and ONVIF compliant are the first to come to the market under the new Illustra brand.
With 2/3 megapixel resolution, the Illustra 400 cameras stand alone in providing a new alternative for customers looking for enhanced resolution over standard 640 x 480 pixel resolution but who are not ready to make the jump to megapixel cameras. “Many customers are looking for improvements over standard resolution, but cannot afford the cost of storage” stated Steve Carney, senior product manager for IP cameras at Tyco Security Products. “This series of cameras represents the best alternative for customers requiring higher resolution, without breaking the bank with storage.”
Key features of the illustra 400 include its 896 x 720 resolution that sets it apart as a versatile device bridging the gap between “standard resolution” and full megapixel cameras. With 650k pixels for very high resolution, this combined with H.264 compression creates a blend of image quality and bandwidth-friendly performance.
With wide dynamic range, advanced onboard storage of up to 32GB, remote management with Illustra connect, these IP cameras deliver superior quality and versatility.
Power over Ethernet (802.11af PoE) enables a single cable to power the device while sending video and receiving commands, saving time and installation costs. PoE also powers the integrated IR illuminators up to 16.76m (55 ft). The IR illuminators take the Illustra 400 Mini- Dome’s low light performance to a higher level. While the 400 Series delivers clarity at 0.2 lux in colour and 0.01 lux in black and white, the IR illuminator allows these levels to go even lower. When low light is important, the illuminators will light the scene when there is zero ambient light.
“The Illustra 400 cameras coupled with our recent launch of the victor unified management system and VideoEdge NVR 4.0, offers our customers unparalleled new alternatives in IP with the backing of the trusted American Dynamics brand they have relied on for years” stated Carney. “We are very pleased to bring the first of many Illustra IP cameras to the market.”
The 400 series come in a wide breadth of from factors from indoor mini-dome, outdoor mini- dome, bullet and box models, in white, black and silver. The Illustra series is compatible with VideoEdge NVR 4.0 and HDVR and are in the process of been supported on all other manufacturers leading NVR’s.
