Annual fete raises funds
for community hub THE Community Fete held on Saturday, Sep- tember 3, was a great success. More than £908 was raised, which will go towards the ‘KGV Community Hub’ project – formed to help with the finance for improve- ments to the community Parish Pavilion. Loose Parish Council wish to thank all of
those who took part. Please have a look at the parish council website for further details of the event. Next year, it has been decided that another community fete will be held on Saturday, Septemper 1. The committee is looking for volunteers for
the event, so if you can give some time to- wards organisation or help on the day, we would like to hear from you.
thoughtless god owners SINCE putting up notices asking dog owners to clear up after their dogs, the pavilion and playing field committee recognises that although the problem did get better for a while, faeces are still not always being picked up – and of late things seem to be deteriorating. At a recent meeting, thanks were conveyed to members of the public who patrol the King George V playing field and who are keen to keep the dog walk- ing facility open. However, concerns were raised by the committee about the potential health and safety hazard, in particular to chil- dren and sports players. The problem will continue to be mon- itored. The installation of another dog bin is also being considered.
LOOSE Parish Council would like to wish all their parishioners a happy Christmas and a prosperous NewYear.

FUNDS have finally been obtained from the War Memorial Trust and KCC Mem- bers Fund to pay for the long-awaited scheme to add four names to thewar me- morial forWorldWar II, which were not originally included.

Top 10 success in Trees in Your Village competition LOOSE has again come within the top 10 in this year’s Trees in Your Village com- petition, and has been awarded a tree of our choice as a prize by the KentMen of the Trees.
Councillors are delighted with the result, which proves the huge amenity value trees give to the parish.
