Busan comes to California California-based film school Dodge College of Film and Media Arts has announced the line-up for the Busan West Asian Film Festival (November 11-13), run in collaboration with South Korea’s Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). Busan West 2011 will feature 11 films from five countries: China, Korea, Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam. They include three North American premieres — Bong Joon-ho’s The Host 3D, Korean animation Leafie and Filipino drama Nino — as well as Chinese smash Aftershock.


Five women shortlisted for Stockholm Film Fund Five female directors have been nominated for the Stockholm Film Fund, the Stockholm Film Festival’s (November 9-20) new production award of $750,000 (KRO5m). They are Lisa Aschan, Jane Magnusson, Wing-Yee Wu, Stina Bergman and Sofia Norlin. The winner will be announced on November 19 at the festival’s awards ceremony.
