Atlantic Boat in Brooklin is working on a 33 footer, which was built using their 31 foot mould and extending it two feet. She is being finished out as a sport fishing boat. All her molded parts are done and the engine has been installed. The engine is a 480 hp Cummins diesel. Her interior includes a V- berth, enclosed head and shelves. She will be delivered to her homeport of New Bedford Massachusetts and will be used as a delivery boat by her owner who also have a home on Cuttyhunk Island. She will be launched this spring.

Also under construction is a 35 footer which is being finished off as a kit boat. She will be heading to Cape Cod Massachusetts to be finished.

The yard has switched its main focus to storage and repair. Winter storage this year is up approximately 20 percent. Most of these boats have work to do on them and this will keep the yard busy most of the weather. This summer they also did a lot of work cleaning up the yard, which makes the facility look much better.

Wesmac in Surry has had a busy sum- mer. In the shop is a 46 footer, which is being finished out for the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor. She is Coast Guard certified ves- sel and will be used by the school as a floating classroom. Her interior will include a V-berth, enclosed head, storage, and seating that will convert into tables. She is powered with a C- 15, 853-hp Caterpillar diesel. They will also be installing a crane.

A 37 Wesmac has been laid up and they are presently cutting the top so it can be put into the hull upside down. This will allow them to move it over the road since she will be going to California to be finished. Already on order are several kits. All of these kits will be finished out as lobster boats and all them are staying here in the State of Maine. They also have a 46 or a 50 to lay-up. As for the phone, it has been ringing. In fact, in the last month it had rung more than it did all of last year.

Another 38 footer, which will be finished out as a yacht for a customer from New York, will be started in December.

A Calvin Beal 44 is also on order and will be finished out as a lobster boat for a fisher- man from Jonesport. Another 44 will be fin- ished out as a lobster boat for a fisherman from Harpswell.

They also think they have a 34 footer to do for a customer from Arundel.

H&H Marine in Steuben is also very busy. Presently they have a 47 footer in the mould being laid up. She will be finished out as a lobster boat for a fisherman from Lubec. She is a partial kit boat. They will put in the engine, a QSM 11 Cummins, shaft, rudder and bulkhead.

Another 42 wide will be finished out as a lobster boat for a fisherman from Bass Harbor. It is thought that she will be powered with a Cummins diesel engine.

The third 42 wide, which is just the hull and a top, will be heading to Machiasport to be finished out as a lobster boat. In the shop is a 36 Osmond being fin- ished out as a lobster boat for a fisherman from Rockport. She will be powered with a 300-hp John Deere diesel.
