Brown Embracing the Benefits of PRESK8 The Kings forward is bullish on hockey’s first performance shot
A
s one of the top young forwards in the NHL, the Los Angeles Kings’ Dustin Brown is a
model athlete when it comes to taking care of his body, on and off the ice. Recently, Brown began to incorporate PRESK8,
hockey’s first performance shot, into his routine, and, as Colorado Rubber Magazine found out in a recent interview with LA’s captain, it’s paying im- mediate dividends.
Colorado Rubber Magazine: In order to play hockey at such a high level, we’re guessing you probably pay pretty close attention to your diet. But we’re curious to know if you take any supple- ments before going to the gym or getting on the ice? Dustin Brown: Nutrition is definitely a huge factor in helping me stay in top form, so I make sure to eat a consistently balanced diet. And, until recently, I hadn’t really used supplements, but a few months ago the Kings’ strength and condition- ing coach, Tim Adams, introduced me to a new pre-workout supplement called PRESK8. Tim took some time to explain the science
behind the product to me, and it sounded solid and made good sense. Tim also told me the guys who developed it worked directly with WADA (the World Anti-Doping Association), so it’d be safe for anyone to use and not contain any banned substances. I asked him how it compared to other energy products, like 5-Hour Energy and Red Bull, and he explained that there really is no comparison between PRESK8 and any other product out there.
CRM: So what’s the difference? DB: I think the basic difference is that PRESK8 is made specifically for hockey players and it’s made for the way the game is played. As hockey players, we need sudden bursting speed, game-long stamina, quick reactions and extreme mental focus. PRESK8 was developed to meet those needs.
CRM: How long have your been taking PRESK8? DB: I began taking it a few months ago and it’s become part of my routine. At first, I used it before my off-ice workouts to get ready for the season. As camp approached, I began taking it every time before I hit the ice.
CRM: How is it helping you? DB: The first thing I noticed was it really seemed to crank up my endurance. My legs stayed fresher longer, and I was able to push harder than usual right up through the end of my sessions. Then, after I
used it a few times, I also noticed I seemed to feel calmer and even more focused on the ice. I played as aggressively as ever, but was able to maintain quiet hands and make good decisions. I kind of expected to feel jittery and hyped up, but this stuff doesn’t do that; I felt good and in control. PRESK8 is definitely part of my pregame routine now.
CRM: Did you feel any side effects? DB: No, I actually feel really good when I take it. Like I said, it didn’t give me any jitters like some other energy drinks do. And another thing is that it never made me crash. I’ve taken other stuff that’s amped me up for a couple hours then dropped me, but PRESK8 has
never done that.
CRM: So, would you recommend PRESK8 to other players? DB: Absolutely. I don’t see any down-
side; the stuff is safe, it’s legal, it’s easy and it makes a noticeable difference in
my performance. One thing I’d suggest to those who want to try it is to make sure to take it 30 minutes before your workout or game; it takes that long to get into your body and start working. So, yeah, I say try it. It works - that’s why I take it.
