Next on to Park Mayenne, set in a fabulous location , their slogan is pure enjoyment

pure France

, Our performances took us to Mayenne, Couptrain, San Pierre Sur Orthe,Dessertines, and Tailaboise

We all had a ball and made a lot of new friends, John and Jen at the Homme Vert right in the town centre, looks quiet but is a seething cauldron of musical activity, they are a couple in the know and gave us lots of good advice on property French people the culture and the laws etc...

One of my favourite towns was Bagnoles de l, Orne, a spa town with lake , casino ang two golf courses, and arts centre theatre where Mam,zelle Lily ( vocals and guitar ) had been performing there recently Heather and Alec took me there for my birthday bash which I thoroughly enjoyed. We also took time out to visit a cider making farm and the medieval town of San Suzzanne

It was a great joy jamming with French and other English musicians , fiddlers, piano accordions, harps and jazz guitarists. Mostly the music went into the early hours, driving back to our geet in the moonlight falling to sleep looking at the stars through my roof window in absolute peace and in the morning quietly

watching buzzards, kingfishers, badgers, rabbits and red sqirrels. Driving along treelined roads with no other traffic, the polite and elegant French people and the warm genuine friendship of everyone we met I would like to thank all concerned with the trip to say a big big thank you, and we will return soon

To Jen and John for their hospitality, Dobro Fifi, for her interest in the blues, Henry and his band for their backup playing,

Steve for his interpreting

skills, Kevan for being the first student I have taught in a foreign language at his

insistence in the kitchen of the

rugby tavern, Linda for keeping us well supplied with calvados (apple brandy ) all evening, Bad man Soul for their interest and support, Gold rush for their friendship support and the opportunity to perform with Frances premier rhythm and blues band, Suzy for the wonderful close harmony singing accompaniment, and Elaine for her support, and the folks who danced and danced all night.

2011 HAS SEEN ME GET BUSIER AND BUSIER!

More & more gigs, more places, new friends and lots of travelling also with a friend who is also a sometime playing partner we have developed a new brass slide which we are marketing via Guitar fairs and exhibitions.
