Instead of fully compensating her, it is alleged that Laurence and Christina wrote her a check for $217,000. Pearl sought relief in the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County. Te Court denied her claims and found that she had agreed to an “early inheritance” plan. Pearl appeals from that decision.

Appellant Ms. Callwood appeals from the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County’s judgment denying her damages under her counterclaim and awarding Ms. Cherington $26,000 in damages under her complaint. Ms. Cherington filed a complaint in March 2008 seeking damages against Ms. Callwood for breach of contract. Ms. Callwood filed a counter-complaint in June 2008 for breach of the parties’ contract, violation of the Consumer Protection Act, and fraud. After a two-day non-jury trial, the Court awarded judgment to Ms. Cherington. Ms. Callwood appeals from that decision.

agreement. Appellant contends the court erred in finding the parties’ purported District of Columbia common law marriage to be valid and erred in awarding attorneys fees to the Appellee.

Te jury rendered its verdict finding that Appellee Charles Payne was negligent and that Appellant Sajid Malik was contributorily negligent. Appellants object to the instructions provided to the jury and the finding of contributory negligence. Appellants now appeal the verdict.
