Contemporary flower power
The recent Pulse exhibition was the launch pad for Ragged Rose - an exciting new signature range of colour quality co- ordinated gifts and homeware conceived by Dawn Rose, former head of buying at Selfridges and House of Fraser. Ragged Rose is a vibrant new lifestyle concept. Initially inspired by a packet of flower seeds, the concept has evolved into a collection of completely original hand- painted artistic designs all based around a floral story. Dawn Rose explains, “The inspiration for Ragged Rose stems from my garden summer house in the heart of the gorgeous Kent countryside. Central to the brand is my passion for beautiful country garden flowers on a hot summer’s day, combined with a love of strong, bold, vibrant colour. The Ragged Rose range comprises glamorous and desirable pieces for the bedroom and bathroom: cushions and throws sit alongside functional but fun items for the garden and kitchen. For those fun days out there are also gorgeous, flirty bags. For more information call 07828 919751, email

Pretty pooches at Pulse
Lindsey Gardiner’s textile label “Quietly Eccentric” is sending her screen-print pups to new homes across the globe! Created in small studio in Dundee, Scotland, these quirky canines are finding their way to Selfridges in London and Anthropologies’ flagship store in New York. The range is inspired by Lindsey’s love of dogs and love for drawing. Already well- known for her lively children’s books, which she both authors and illustrates, Lindsey is fast making her mark on the housewares and textiles markets. She has a Masters in Textile Design and is now returning from publishing to her love of textiles. Sophisticated dog drawings are combined with floral designs on cotton bags, dog-shaped woollen cushions, mugs and printed wall panels.
