Here are some odds and ends of importance to commercial Realtors®:
The current Capitol Area Regional Planning Commission may disappear. Dane County Executive Joe Parisi is considering de-funding the four year old commission which is currently responsible for approving all urban service district changes in Dane County. One possible result of this action could include disruption in the processing of urban service district changes. The RASCW Board has approved the formulation of a letter in support of retaining the CARPC.
The National Association of Realtors® has approved an increase in Real- tor® dues for 2012. NAR’s share will go from $80 per member per year to $120. The additional money will be used for lobbying, grass roots political activity and for "soft dollar" contributions, which can be used when com- municating with the public to influence voter opinions. Earlier this spring, commercial practitioners from across the country met with their Congressional delegation in Washington, DC on several issues of importance: Multifamily and Commercial Mortgage Market Liquidity – especially in the areas of bank liquidity, equity gap and small business lending; and Energy Efficiency legislation in Multifamily and Commercial structures. For more information, please see
www.irem.org/pdfs/pub- licpolicy/2011briefingpapers.pdf. The RASCW Commercial Services Committee (CSC) held its Spring Quarterly meeting. The CSC is looking for input on what to place on the new RASCW Web site to help Commercial Practitioners in their business. If you have any ideas and/or input please forward them to us.
The CSC is currently working with WRA and CARW to have Commercial CE on demand by sometime next year. This way, if you choose to or miss a live Commercial CE offering, you can take them on-line at your conven- ience. We are reviewing outlines and materials at present and will inform you when they are on-line and ready to go. As always if you have any questions about the Commercial Services Committee, contact us.
