PREVIEW SHOW Date HUPO 2011
From 4 – 7 September 2011, the combined HUPO 10th Annual World Congress, 5th EuPA Annual Scientific Meeting and the 8th SPS scientific meeting will be held in Geneva, Switzerland. The scientific program will focus on translational proteomics and feature the latest state-of-the-art scientific update and technological breakthroughs in proteomics and related fields.
The congress builds on a strong tradition of events which showcases the latest scientific and technical developments in human proteomics. The congress will attract a strong delegation of experts in this field, as well as attracting new potential users of proteomics and applications. More than 2,000 participants are expected to attend.
Exhibition An exhibition will be held concurrently with the congress, providing an ideal platform to establish direct links with scientists working in the field of proteomics. The exhibition will take place next to the plenary hall, all scheduled lunches and coffee breaks. Thanks to over 30 exhibitors from all over the world, attendees will have a complete overview of new findings in the domain of proteomics.

Geneva Better known throughout the world as the United Nations’ European headquarters and the head office of the World Health Organization (WHO) and of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Geneva draws thousands of people each year to conferences, conventions and meetings. Located in the centre of Europe, Geneva is easily accessible by air from all major European cities, and there are interesting low- cost connections from several of them. The international airport is only 15 minutes from downtown. Host city of many international organisations, Geneva has a long tradition of humanism and communication as well as an established reputation as a centre for arts and culture. The city has over 30 museums, as well as many art galleries, theatres and an opera house where an impressive number of famous artists have appeared. Geneva is the smallest of the world’s major
cities. Distinguished by its unique geographical position in the heart of Europe, state-of-the-art technology, high quality services, prestige and ranking as a world-class city, coupled with the advantages of a small town, Geneva is the ideal venue for HUPO 2011. In addition, Geneva is the birthplace of
SwissProt/Uniprot, a unique and central resource of proteomics. Mark Wilkins and the members of the organising committee coined and pushed the Proteome concept since 1994 in Siena.
