The SASHA show

kicked off the horse show scene in south Texas at the Rose Palace near Boerne, Texas in March. Arabian exhibitor turn out showed an increase in num- bers over last year. Martha Murdoch judged Arabian classes and proved an excellent judge. Martha has been showing Ara- bian horses for a number of years and is an important part of Arabian national programs. She will be a judge at the 2011 Arabian Youth Nationals in Albuquerque this summer. Karlan Downing of Karma Arabians commented on the SASHA shows “SASHA people know how to put the fun in showing.” Well said, Karlan. The show was well organized, ran smoothly and was exhibitor friendly. Thanks to Lisa Moun- tain, Megan Beasom, Terry

Carter, Sandra Arguello and all who worked to make the show successful for another year. And praise goes out to the man that made the show a little extra with his music. He was right on with the beat to the gaits of each class.

Due to popular de-

mand, the venue for the SA- SHA Barn Party was held at the Scenic Loop Café on Friday night after the classes. SASHA hosted the party as a special thank you to the exhibitors and friends. We were treated to a “sit down” dinner that was deli- cious, wine or drink of choice and wonderful fellowship in a quiet pleasant atmosphere. Dr. Tony Toledo and Linda came to the show and attended the din- ner along with daughter Blair, husband and young daugh-

ter. Blair showed Saddlebred horses under the guidance of Beulah and Elton Cates during her high school years. Shirley and Dave Gallaher drove in from New Braunfels to take in the show and visit friends. We were delighted to see Kim Klossner. She has been through some very difficult times with hip surgery followed with other health complications. Kim said “ I just had to come to the show and get my horse “fix”. She looks great and was in good spirits. `We got to chat with Patty Liarakos and Capper Thompson who were working the outgate. Capper was also in center ring doing ribbons. Sandra Haley and Ashley Korzekwa were among the spectators on Friday. Ash- ley rode her dear horse Tamar Kodachrome+// to numerous wins in Hunter Pleasure and then in dressage where the two were successful in Show Hack, Sport Horse Under Saddle and were moving up the levels when Kodachrome +// was stricken with laminitis. He fought the battle for two years but it was necessary at the end to let him go. No horse will ever fill the hole in their hearts left by this horse. He was euthanized on June 5, 2009 and it is only now that they were ready to find an-

other horse to carry on for him. They have recently purchased Skyes Expectation. We look forward to seeing Ashley and “Star” in the dressage ring. Show Results - Ara-
