A record 215 entries, including 57 collegiate riders from seven different col- leges exhibited in the two-day show. The SHOT Clinic was once again very popular, and featured a demonstration of
“Cowboy Dressage” by found- ing member Jack Brainard. A large crowd enjoyed the Ham- burger Feed Friday evening, sponsored by Total Equine. The collegiate divi-
sion of SHOT continues to grow, with members from Tex- as Tech University, Tarleton State University, West Texas A&M University, Clarendon College, Laramie County Com-

Mindy is a beautiful 7-year-old, 15h AQHA Blue Roan Mare. She belongs to one of my friends that purchased her a while back so she could start riding again. However she has just learned that she will be needing another major sur- gery and will not be able to ride for at least another year and a half. She has regretfully decided to sell her horse. Mindy is very well trained and will neck rein, stop, and back up one handed with very little effort. She is gentle enough and suit- able for anyone from Beginners to the most Experienced riders to ride and enjoy. She rides on a loose rein with her head down, never raising it above the saddle horn. She does not get fresh or frisky, or ever wants to buck, even if she is turned out for an extended length of time. She is very easy to catch, loads well, stands perfectly still while being saddled, and stands quiet and still while being mounted. She rides off smooth and quiet and will only go as fast as you ask her to.
Callaghan last spring running in the field. When he was born he had to have surgery on both front legs. He was taken from his mother at only a few days old and was a bottle baby. Callaghan came to live at OSER when he was four months old. His issues cause him to not be able to be ridden although he lives a great life with his two favorite Thoroughbred buddies.
Most of the horses at Osborne Stables Equine Rescue would not have had much of a chance of being happy healthy horse. It takes more than love. The ongoing care and medical expenses are vast. Thank you for helping us in our fundraising efforts. OSER strives to provide the best care for the horses and equine education programs for our community.
Come and spent a great evening out and help raise funds to care for the horses at Osborne Stables Equine Rescue, Inc. A 501 c 3 non-profit horse refuge and equine education center. The Evening starts with great BBQ, plates served from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Silent and Live Auctions, Silent Auction closes at 8:30 PM and the Live Auction to start at 8:30 PM. A play ground for the children and lots of fun for all, finishing your evening with a band for your enjoyment.
Thank You! See you there.

King is a 10-year-old, 15h, well trained, gorgeous blue roan gelding. He comes from a ranching background in Colorado. His pictures do not do him justice. This is by far, the best reining horse that has ever been at this ranch. If 10 is excellent in reining, this horse is an 11. He rides out nice and quiet, on a loose rein, will go anywhere you point him, and does not look for anything to spook or shy from. He gives you all of his attention and does whatever you ask him, whenever you ask it, and very promptly. This horse is gentle enough for anyone from Beginners to the most accomplished Experienced riders, however he responds so promptly to his riding cues, that I am recom- mending him for the Upper Intermediate and Experienced riders. King is a very athletic and fine tuned horse.
Parr is a 13-year-old, 14h, beautiful sorrel gelding. This is a little horse with lots of chrome and a very laid back, forgiv- ing disposition. He does not do anything in a hurry, yet he does respond to all of his riding cues when you ask him. Everything he does is in a slow, easy manner, never being aggressive in any way. He has no bad habits and is easy to catch, load, shoe, saddle, and stands still while you mount and dismount. This is a horse that I think will fit the Beginner and Novice riders the best. I think he’s a little too laid back to be enjoyed by the Intermediate and Experienced riders. I really think he is gentle enough for kids but it will have to be kids that are aggressive enough to make him go. Walking and trotting are easy to do but he needs some pushing to go into a lope. He stops and reins very well and is very control- lable. If you have Beginner and Novice riders that want a small, gentle horse to build up their confidence on, this is the one. I think this is a really neat little horse for the Beginner and Novice family.
