Healthy Skin from the Inside Out and the Outside In

I

n June 2010, three women, all experts in the field of holistic skincare, shared their secrets to Healthy Skin from the Inside Out and the Outside In with the people of the San Diego community. Elina Fedotova, featured writer for Les Nouvelles Esthetiques & Spa magazine; Dr. Natasha Wolf, licensed naturopath doctor; and Charlene Handel, certified holistic esthetician, are back to disclose their secrets to healthy skin during two lectures, at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., April 30, in Carlsbad. “There are four skin conditions

most generally seen in doctors’ of- fices: eczema, psoriasis, acne and skin cancers,” advises Handel. “Most people don’t realize that the skin is the largest organ of the body and is one of its most important detoxification pathways for elimination of toxins. What we ingest not only affects the internal workings of the body, but can greatly compromise the skin, as well. What we apply to our skin can also compromise the inner workings of the body, causing many serious skin issues. There is a full circle of health issues due to unnecessary chemicals.”

Handel continues, “We’ll be speak- ing about the effects of chemicals ap- plied to the skin and how they not only affect the skin but the internal functions of the body. We’ll also be imparting information about many healthy op- tions, both orally and topically, to help heal these pathways, which will lead to ‘Healthy Skin from the Inside Out and Outside In.’”

All proceeds from the event will be donated to Casa de Amparo, in Encinitas, an organization dedicated to treating and preventing child abuse and neglect.
