“Technology”....Whether you embrace it with open arms or fight it (kicking and screaming all the way), you can’t argue that technology, in some form, has become an integral part of our every- day existence as educators. In this section, you will find a number of articles focusing on various aspects of technology in music education. From an innovative project by Pat Michaud’s Music Technology class at Hamden Academy to becoming part of an online professional learning com- munity of music educators, we hope you’ll come away from this issue with some new ideas on incorporating technology into your teaching and professional development. We begin with a listing of favorite web links and “apps”. Thanks to everyone who shared, espe- cially Jen Nash, music teacher at the Etna-Dixmont School for submitting a comprehensive list of her favorites and Scott Watson (http://www.enter.net/~ascott/index.html) from the Parkland School District in Allentown, PA for giving us permission to reprint his compilation of some of the best free web-based and traditional applications for creative musical activities available on the Internet.
