STELLA FOKAS, E3 LIVE


Stella Fokas graduated with an honours degree in Kinesiology and Health Sciences from York University. During her 20’s she faced a common health problem – chronic fatigue. After meeting Ron Weston, an expert and advocate of living foods, and seeing his example at the age of 72, she adopted a new lifestyle of raw foods, rest, and moderate exercise. Key to her recovery was the addition of a variety of blue-green algae called AFA. In time her condition reversed and this gave her a renewed inspiration for health and life.


During the mid 90’s, farrier Wayne Blevins began documenting the use of AFA from Klamath Lake as a


supplement for horses. He was so impressed with the regeneration of hoof mate- rial and recovery from health issues, that he began promoting the use of this blue-green algae not only for people, but for animals, too.


Stella introduced E3Live For Horses to Canada in 2009. Since then, she has been able to share her love and commitment to people, animals and now horses, with this unique food. THE EYE OF NORM BETTS:


You can find an amazing Norm Betts photo any- where from the 3rd page of an old Toronto Sun in the form of a Sunshine Girl to the front page of the Financial post or anywhere Dodge rodeo pictures are found. Back in the ‘90s, jovial Norm Betts worked for The Toronto Sun as a news photographer, famous for his “girlie” pics. His tricks of the trade for capturing unique, award-win- ning photos included wearing a cap with a bird on top to catch the attention of Princess Diana. Norm moved on in the late 1990s, but remains a photography force in his new endeavors.


Norm is currently on staff for Bloombergs of New York but ten years ago he developed a love for rodeo. He has followed nearly every one of the Dodge rodeos for over ten years. His missed three. Once he was on tour with the visiting queen. The second, he was with the Pope Tour; and then he missed for the World G20 Sum- mit meetings. He has a tremendous collection of photog- raphy capturing the sport and lifestyle and will have them on display at Can-Am.


AMBER MARSHALL VISITS CAN-AM Born and raised in London, Ontario, Amber Mar- shall is now in her fourth full season of portraying Amy Fleming on the hit TV series, Heartland. She trained at Lester B. Pearson School for the Arts, as well as The Original Kids Theatre Company in London and has appeared in numerous film and television productions, dis- playing a remarkable range and vul- nerability.


Amber was nominated


for a Los Angeles based ‘Young Artist Award,’ for her work as the title character in The Elizabeth Smart Story, a movie-of-the-week based on the true story of the 2002 kidnapping of Utah teenager Elizabeth Smart. A strong actress, she has had regular roles in television series such as Super Rupert, The Power Strikers and Dark Oracle, and has guest appeared on different series, including Twice in a Lifetime and Doc.


A former veterinary assistant who is passionate about all animals, Amber has been around horses as long as she can remember. As Heartland films in Alberta, Amber has made a home for herself on a small ranch outside of Calgary where she is surrounded by her many animals, including horses, dogs, cats, pigs, chickens, turkeys, steers, and even a peacock. Amber recently added a new member to her family. A few days before Christmas she got a new horse which she named “Tango” to be a buddy for her buckskin colt “Cash”. Can-Am organizers are thrilled to have Amber attend the
