Procol Harum 50 Good morning Shindiggers

After the overwhelming response to Issue 12 – the new look, the mind-blowing CD, the unsurpassable content (and the fact that magazine also sold-out in record time, even after we upped the print-run!) – we’re floating on cloud nine. But we’re not the sort of folk that rest on our laurels and use our achievements as a sign to slow down, oh no… our “garage special” is in the shops and our second hits the shelves any day now. We’re already planning all of the wonderful things in store for 2010.

This issue really has something for everyone… pastoral folk from the ’70s (COB, Heron and Fresh Maggots), US garage-rock royalty The Litter, the king of UK TV themes Laurie Johnson, travelling West Coast hippie revue Stoneground, more from the world of Britsploitation cinema – and, last but not least, the first instalment of our two part Procol Harum story. Known as the ‘A Whiter Shade Of Pale’ hit makers, the Harum defined UK psychedelia and invented progressive rock along the way.

Meanwhile our ‘It’s A Happening Thing’ section is expanding to encompass all of the breaking stories, fun finds and new music, showing that Shindig! has its finger on the pulse and the past.

We’re feeling very happy with the continued evolution of Shindig! We hope you are too and look forward to hearing any of your suggestions or criticisms.

As is the norm… lay back and enjoy.
