NEW RELEASES FROM THE ANGEL AIR CREW
COLD RIVER LADY Better Late Than Never SJPCD324 COLD RIVER LADY were discovered by PETE BROWN (who wrote the lyrics for CREAM’s major Hits “Sunshine Of Your Love, White Room”, I Feel Free”) in the spring of 1971 and he was very taken with CRL’s song writing efforts and offered them a publishing deal with his company. Over the next few years Pete worked with the band producing a number of demos and encouraging them to turn full time professional. The band got a residency at The Greyhound, Fulham, London then went off to Europe to tour but they never got that elusive record deal and the band disbanded in 1976. In 1991 Pete formed his own production company (Interoceter Records) and asked the band to reform to record an album and “Better Late Than Never” is the result of that reformation producing an album “that has a strong folk influence, but sophisticated flavours from the likes of Arthur Lee, Tim Buckley and Caravan were also present in the mix” Better Late Than Never- a gem of an album
ROCOCO Run From The Wildfire SJPCD337 ROCOCO was one of London’s finest Prog Rock bands of the 70s and were formed by a young musician ROY SHIPSTON, who had been a trainee journalists at MELODY MAKER. In 1972 he quit journalism and formed late 72, early 73 Rococo and immediately obtained a singles licensing deal with the now infamous DERAM Records who released ‘Cultrastar’ as the a side and ‘Wildfire’ as the b side which ironically became their most popular live track and for many years DJ – Alan Freeman used the riff on his radio show. The band broke attendance records headlining at The Marquee Club as well as playing support on UK tours to TEN YEARS AFTER, THIN LIZZY, SNAFU and CLIMAX BLUES BAND The band also included as its bass player John ‘Rhino’ Edwards who would later go onto fame and fortune as a member of STATUS QUO All the tracks on this album were recorded during the 70s and highlight how exciting and original prog rockers the band were.

Various Artists THE BEST OF HOMEGROWN
MUSIC 1968 to 1980 SJPCD340 BRIAN CARROLL started out in the music business as an office boy for The Musical Express back in 1962 and quickly moved to TRANSANLANTIC RECORDS where he developed his production skills working with GUS DUGGEN. He then moved to the infamous IBC STUDIOS, London where he teamed up with DAMON LYON SHAW and quickly formed JOINT PRODUCTIONS (which very soon became HOMEGROWN MUSIC when certain “oldies” in the record business thought the name had something to do with an illegal drug that was about to change the youth of the day) and recorded their first band FACTORY and the track “Path Through The Forrest” originally released on MGM is now much sought after and change hands at £650. Over the next decade plus a number of groups/artist were recorded and produced by Homegrown including the much sought after tracks by FIVE DAY RAIN which also
change hands at £500 plus today (“Sea Song”) Brian has put together this compilation, written the sleeve notes and produced the track by track notations
