The Challenges:
Multiple managers across six separate locations meant that Britsec Security had to work hard to ensure that communication between offices was accurate and frequent. Working in a cellular manner, office managers were responsible for their own teams with little knowledge of the activities of colleagues in other parts of the country. Before the installation of the TimeGate solution, the compilation of management information was a time consuming process and often meant considerable time and man-power had to be spent processing paperwork.
Using a traditional T-card system across the business, Britsec Security were only ever able to monitor their workforce on a basic level, namely the time that they clocked into work and the time that the shift was finished. Impossible to access live information on each member of the security team in operation Britsec Security wanted a solution that would allow them to ensure the safety of their staff through effective co-ordination and monitoring.
Of their old way of working Barry Mappley, Services Director at Britsec Security comments:
“We were limited in what we could do. Of course, most things were possible with the traditional methods that we were using, but it meant that considerable staff resources would have to be put into the analysis and collation of the data that we required. This had an effect on team productivity and an impact on our budgets. Real time information was something that was beyond our capabilities and this element was something that we really wanted to be able to do as it not only ensured that our staff were onsite and safe but that our clients were receiving the high level of service that we promised to them.”
