Mary Ann James rode

Jamestown Ziare in English classes. He is by Mary Ann’s Friesian and out of a Morgan mare. Big Hand- some horse. His first time out. We watched Mary Ann warm him up and they looked good. She admit- ted that her stomach was filled with butterflies as it had been a long while since she had actually shown. She has young riders that compete in the shows while she sits rail side coach- ing. Now it’s her turn. Dana Warwich Pantaze

We were blessed with

ideal weather for the AAHA OK- TOBERFEST Horse Show at the Rose Palace. The AAHA volunteers were on hand to keep things moving. Special thanks to the Arabian Horse Club for making it all happen. Due to the economic situation, exhibitors are looking elsewhere for a place to show their horses. The rated shows are still doing well but exhibitors are being a bit more selective and limit- ing the number of shows they attend. Therefore, the owners of horses look for open shows for schooling and the pure enjoyment of competing. Special thanks to Bill

We all love to watch the

Saddlebred Five Gaited horses. This year, we were honored to have Terry Carter and her mare Dripping in Dia- monds put on the show. It gets real noisy when the gaited class enters the ring. People get carried away with excitement as these magnificent horses turn it on! When we think of Mi-

chael Beasom, we think of a Sad- dlebred Trainer entering the ring on an English horse that can trot to the moon. Grant Galloway put his horse in training at Victory Lane Farms two days before the show. He asked Michael to ride his horse in the show. Tdjet and Michael entered the ring and looked like they belonged and won a ribbon or two. Michael is gifted and knows how to ride and shows both English and western. Nice horse Grant. Silvio Morales brought

several green horses riding COP and Western.

There are so many stories to be told.

The ARABIAN MOD-

ERN HORSE just arrived. There is a story on Koy Moody and her Country Pleasure Horse and Pop Star. It pictures Pop Star getting a great big hug from Koy after their wins in Canada. At the Youth Na- tionals, they won Champion in JOTR AND JTR in classes that had around 60 entries in each. On the Saskatch- ewan, they did a repeat performance. They were named Champions in both JTR and JOTR. Alexa Nichols and Koy worked their way to Canadian Nationals with Gordon and Wendy Potts doing grooming, bathing and were a part of the team. Alexa also brought Championships honors back to San Antonio.

ME AND MY NEW KNEE. The Oktoberfest show

had special meaning for me. Just three weeks out of surgery where I received a new right knee, I con- vinced myself that I had to make it to the Rose Palace to visit with my extended horse family. You all are so special to me. I can’t find the words to express how much your caring and kindness meant during the surgery and into the Rehab. I loved the food that was brought to the house. We haven’t eaten that well in ages. Sure beats frozen TV Dinners! After hospital food, the home cooked dishes were so good. I want to apologize for my answering machine that decided to go out of business while I was gone. For all of you that left mes- sages, I am so sorry they are still floating around in outer space. I know, I tried calling home and was upset with Greg that he ignored my messages. During the same period, the telephone in my hospital room was out of order. Nevertheless, you cleared the hurdles and I am here to say that I am so grateful for your flowers, cards, visits, food and love you with all my heart for being my Arabian Horse family. God Bless you all. - Ginny You can email Ginny at
