Takaful Middle East Summit

Date: 26-27 October 2010 Venue: Bahrain

The burgeoning Takaful and Re-Takaful industry is by far the most vibrant sector of the lucrative Is- lamic finance space. It has been growing at a rate of 30% year on year and this phenomenal expan- sion shows little sign of slowing. High economic growth, increasing awareness, a greater desire for Shariah compliant offerings and increasing asset based Shariah compliant financing are all fuelling the demand for Islamic insurance.

Having said this, the industry is still worth less than US$5 billion and with the global insurance market valued in excess of US$3.5 trillion, the prospects for significant expansion is extraordi- nary. The Middle East Takaful Summit will provide a platform for high level dialogue between the in- dustry leaders in order to develop the strategies necessary to capitalise on the obvious potential of the industry.

On Behalf of The Central Bank of Bahrain and the organizers we look forward to welcoming you all at the Middle East Takaful Summit 2010.
