Most folks look forward to once again competing with their horses and what better way to kick off the season than attend the Alamo Arabian Horse Club OKTO- BER FEST to be held on Oct 2nd at the Rose Palace near Boerne. The class list has been finalized featuring classes for all breeds, Arabian, Saddlebred, Morgan, Quarter Horse, Pinto, as well as grade horses. Class Summary: Halter classes 10. Walk Trot 6. been added this year. Match up a with a friend and enter this one. Also, a Novelty Costume has been added. Both are fun classes. Due to the number of classes being offered, the show committee decided to extend the day. The show will start at 8:00 AM. After class 40 there will be a break for the club Party and the remainder of the classes will continue after that. This is a PAC approved show. The Judge is rated

Alexa Nichols and Kay Moody. Having competed at the Youth Nationals and winning big there, the decision was made to go to the Canadian Nation- als. Both girls returned home with not only fond memories of a trip to Canada but also had a great show. ALEXA NICHOLS rode Easter Sunrise in western pleasure winning Championships in JTR and JOTR. KOY MOODY rode her new Country English horse – Pop Star and won two Coun- try Pleasure Championships JTR and JOTR. We have heard that Pop Star is a fabulous horse and obvi- ously, he and Koy make a great team. Four championships in a row!!!! Congratulations to Koy and Alexa! Winning is more fun!
STEVEN PARIS and FED EX Many will remember
Fed Ex being shown by Koy Moody in Country Pleasure and Costume. He is a flashy chest- nut with lots of color and stands out in a crowd. He is also a whole lot of horse. They won many awards during their time together. Koy is an excellent rider and needed more horse for the competition she would be entering at the National level. Pop Star came into the picture and proved to be the horse for her winning Championship after championship.
Fed Ex and Steven Paris. When a friend told me about the horse and his new friend, I contacted Laura Paris. She wrote “Where do I start? I have twins. Steven and Kendall age 10. They have been riding Arabian horses for two years. They have made many won- derful friends (two legged and four). Steven rides Saddleseat and Kendall rides Western. At Youth Nationals in 2009, The Moody family, offered Steven a ride in the Walk Trot Eq. on their horse Fed Ex. This was the start of a wonderful friend- ship. This spring, Koy asked if she could give Steven Fed Ex for his birthday, since she was procuring a new horse. The problem – we had no place to keep him where he could be shown.

the Moody’s gracious gift and great friendship. As well as Koy’s mentoring and Michael’s great training. As a matter of fact, Steven and Kendall call Koy their “muse”. Fed Ex has been working out to be a great friend for Steven and has had some great riders on his back at Victory Lane Farms. We are looking forward to the show season and our many friend- ships.”
