After departing on a ferrying mission on October 26, 1944 from Los Angeles, California in a P-51 for the East Coast, WASP Gertrude Tompkins-Silver was never seen again. (She is the only WASP not accounted for.)

WASP Mary Trebing was killed on November 7, 1943, when the PT-19 she was ferrying crashed southeast of Blanchard, Oklahoma.
