Porcelain, page 188, illustration and entry S182. Gibson’s original sculpture of Venus was executed in marble and was known as Venus Verticordia, and was completed in 1833. The one reproduced by Copeland was introduced in 1849 and was included in the display at The Great Exhibition of 1851.
