A host of khaki-clad corps, both
young and old, attended the cer-
emony and visited the displays of
historical scouting artifacts, includ-
ing decades-old manuals and sur-
vival tools, such as flashlights.
Several troop members wore
scout outfits from 1960s and 1970s,
which other than a few tweaks, still
carried many of the aspects of to-
day’s uniform.
Part of scouting’s lasting appeal
is its timeless teachings and the ef-
forts made by scouts to enrich their
communities.
“Scouting is still growing strong
because the lessons and values it
teaches our young men can’t help
but be passed from generation to
generation,” said Margaret Lance,
