Mars Hill
New rector for Church
of the Holy Spirit
The Episcopal Church of the
Holy Spirit, located outside Mars
Hill, has called the Rev. David
M. McNair to be the full-time
rector. His first Sunday will be
Feb. 7.
The Rev. McNair comes to the
Church of the Holy Spirit to con-
tinue a tradition of deep involve-
ment in faith community support
and commitment to ministry to
the broader communities, specifi-
cally in Madison and Buncombe
counties.
The Rev. McNair, son of a Bap-
tist minister, has been the youth
director at St. James Episcopal
Church in Black Mountain and
director of the Western North
Carolina Diocese camp at Camp
Henry located at Lake Logan
near Canton. Hired by the dio-
cese, he was named Canon for
Youth, College, and Young Adult
Ministries, a position he held for
nine years.
