Remembering those lost in 2008
The North Buncombe commu-
nity suffered several tough losses this
year. Woodfin Sanitary Water and
Sewer District Trustee Henry Chan-
dler passed away in February. In
March, news broke that Weaverville
resident Sgt. Thomas C. Ray II had
been killed in Iraq. Weaverville
Police Department Receptionist Jan
Mundy died in April, followed a few
months later by longtime town em-
ployee Gaston Ray, Jr. Former Dry
Ridge Museum curator Jo Osborne
passed away in November, and for-
mer police sergeant Andy Cody was
lost in December.
