Happiness never
decreases...
“My child is a much happier child since he started at Lakeside School.
He is more confident and seems to get on well with his teachers and
children in his class…being happy at school is very important and
as far as he is concerned, that is the case.” Parent
“Age-appropriate humour is frequently used, staff know their pupils
well and relationships within the school community are strong and
have a significant impact in meeting the pupils’ academic and
behavioural needs.” Ofsted
At Lakeside School we encourage the pupils to develop into healthy,
independent and responsible members of society. It is fundamental that
their personal, social and health development is ongoing throughout the
school day as opportunities may arise during times such as break times,
lunchtimes and assemblies. We encourage pupils to develop a positive self
image, a compassionate outlook and responsible attitudes towards their
physical and social development.
The pupils are encouraged to contribute to the life of the school, and where
possible the wider community. They are taught how society is organised
and governed, their own rights and responsibilities and in so doing, learn
to appreciate what it means to be a positive member of a diverse
multicultural society. Pupils contribute actively contribute towards the
fostering of links with the global community; these may include supporting
orphanages and schools in a developing country and promoting the
purchase of fair trade produce both at school and in the local community.
Pupils are very conscious of how their actions impact on the environment
and work hard to raise awareness of environmental issues and develop
eco-friendly projects.
