With the inaugural Cityscape Saudi Arabia 2009 exhibition and conference on the
horizon, welcome to this special event preview – your personal guide to our first
annual investment and development showcase in the Kingdom.
Saudi Arabia is currently the fastest-growing country in the Middle East; and with
an estimated US$283 billion worth of projects under construction, real estate is the
second largest economic driver for the country, after oil.
The Kingdom’s drive to become one of the world’s top 10 globally competitive
investment destinations has brought about significant deregulation and offers an
encouraging business climate for potential foreign investors. And although regional
and international financial markets continue to suffer in the aftermath of the global
Deep Marwaha downturn, industry experts remain firm in their belief that Saudi Arabia has the ability
to weather the storm better than other countries due to its economic surplus.
Held under the patronage of HRH Prince Misha’al bin Majed bin Abdulaziz, Governor
of Jeddah, Cityscape Saudi Arabia is officially approved by the Ministry of Commerce
and Industry, and supported by the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The event was conceived with the aim of supporting ongoing plans for real estate
investment and development within the Gulf’s largest economy by bringing together
international and local real estate stakeholders to network, interact and debate the
numerous opportunities that the Kingdom has to offer.
Cityscape Saudi Arabia 2009 will see more than 100 companies showcase their
expertise to 5,000 regional and international institutional investors, high net worth
individuals, developers, architects, designers, developers, governmental authorities, key
decision makers and senior executives involved in the design and construction of both

public and private real estate projects, across 10,000 square metres of exhibition space.
Running alongside the exhibition is the Saudi Arabia Real Estate Development &
Investment Conference, which provides the perfect opportunity to listen to expert
analysis on the country’s real estate market from the leaders and opinion-shapers of
the Kingdom’s business and real estate community. The conference will be an exciting
forum for in-depth discussion on the current market challenges and for formulating
cutting-edge strategies during these turbulent times.
Finally, the Cityscape Saudi Arabia Real Estate Awards will give the industry a
unique platform from which to showcase the depth and breadth of architectural and
development innovation across the Kingdom; rewarding both industry professionals
